Yoga to Ease Menstrual Discomfort 2 – Guided by Michael Plasha


Michael Plasha, E-RYT 500, RPYT and YACEP has been studying and practicing yoga and meditation for over 45 years. These are registry marks by Yoga Alliance for levels of yoga teaching standards. E-RYT 500 is their highest level including 500 hours of training and thousands of hours of teaching.  RPYT means registered prenatal yoga teacher and YACEP is Yoga Alliance continuing education provider. Being a member of the “Moon Club” in our society is not easy. You are told to tough it out, take your Midol and keep going. Traditional cultures encouraged women to bond in the “Red Tent” and rest! Yoga recommends women take it easy during this time and focus on forward bends, hip openers and supine poses. Avoid Sun Salutes, inversions and power yoga!  This 32 minute sequence is a perfect way to rest and recharge especially in the evening and includes breathing and relaxation practices.
